Day 1 : London - Cairo

You depart from London Heathrow and arrive Cairo where you will be transferred to your hotel, for a three-nights stay.

31st August 2008: Depart from London Heathrow Terminal 1 at 09:30 am flight CY327. After few hours transit in Cyprus we arrive Cairo at 9.50 pm

Day 2: Cairo

At the Cairo Museum you admire the glory of ancient Egypt. See the unique and only archaeological exhibit that mentions “Israel”. This Museum houses impressive collections dating back thousands of years, including King Tut Ankh Amun’s treasures. Afternoon free.

Day 3: Memphis - Pyramids - Sphinx

The Exodus must have started at Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. The Step Pyramid at Sakkara existed in Jacob’s day (Insight Vol. 1 p530). You will be in awe of the majestic Pyramids and the Sphinx, and you can but appreciate the glory and wealth of the first world power and just what Moses left behind. (Hebrews 11:24 -26).

Day 4: Exodus Route to Sinai

Your Exodus Tour starts today. After crossing the Suez Canal you admire the Red Sea, viewing the possible locations where the waters parted (Insight Vol. 1 p780-3). You then travel through and stop at possible sites where the Israelites camped. “See the Good Land” page 9. Before the day ends you climb Mount Sinai and experience the glorious sunset followed by the magnificent array of stars across the night’s sky. The day ends at your hotel with a satisfying buffet dinner.

Day 5: Wadi El Raha - Hovercrast to Aqaba - Petra

Your hotel is situated at the foothills of Mount Sinai known as “Wadi El Raha” meaning “Plain of Rest”. Here, the Israelites rested and made the golden calf! (Insight, Vol. 1 inside cover and p540). You continue the Exodus route and pass through the place where Miriam was struck with leprosy. Early afternoon you cross the Gulf of Aqaba from where you may view four different countries: Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. In one hour you arrive in Aqaba Jordan, by hovercraft. Your Jordanian bus takes you along the King’s Highway, through the land of Edom and in the evening you arrive at Petra your home for two nights.

Day 6: Petra

Come prepared to take many pictures in Petra. The Edomites lived here. Bible prophecy was accurately fulfilled. Afternoon free.

Day 7 : Mount Nebo - Jerusalem

On a clear day, from Mount Nebo you may see the Land of Promise as Moses did before he died. The Plains of Moab stand in silent testimony as a sad reminder to what happened here (Jude 5). At Allenby Bridge you cross the borders to Israel. Jericho is in front of you and nearby, Gilgal the site of Israel’s first encampment after crossing the Jordan River. Here the manna ceased. The bus takes you to your hotel in Jerusalem your home for four nights.

Day 8: Jerusalem

The pages of the Bible come alive visiting Jerusalem. It is one thing to read but it is another to see the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Valley of Hinnom or Gehenna, the Western Wall known as the “Wailing Wall” and the Temple Mound, where Solomon’s Temple once stood. The rest of the day is free.

Day 9 : Free day in Jerusalem

A day to relax or explore.

Day 10: Massada - Dead Sea

A cable car takes you to the top of Massada, the scene of the last Jewish revolt against Rome. Tour the extensive site and enjoy the magnificent view. Later you may wish to float on the Dead Sea, a fascinating experience

Day 11: Joppa - Caesarea - Megiddo - Nazareth

You head for Joppa from where Jonah tried to escape his assignment. Here, Peter had a vision instructing him to visit Cornelius, the first Gentile proselyte. We follow Peter’s steps to Caesarea. At Megiddo we appreciate the value in keeping our “outer garments” (Rev 16:16) for survival. Passing through Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown. You end the day on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias, at a beautiful hotel, your home for three nights.

Day 12: Sea of Galilee - Capernaum

Sailing on the beautiful Sea of Galilee, in a wooden boat similar to the fishing boats of Jesus’ time, is an experience that will be remembered. Later memories of the powerful works performed by Jesus are recalled as we visit Capernaum, (Jesus’ “own city”) and her synagogue. You also visit the likely spot of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. Afternoon free.

Day 13 : Free day in Tiberias

A day to relax or explore. This is our last evening together so appropriately we have a farewell get-together at our hotel.

Day 14 : Tel Aviv - London

From Tiberias our bus takes us to Tel Aviv where we board our flight arriving London, Heathrow.

13th September 2008: Depart from Tel Aviv at 7.05 am and in one hour's time arrive Larnaca, Cyprus

Opportunity to visit today another Bible Land

Cyprus, known as Kittim in Bible times, is the third largest Island of the Mediterranean Sea. Paul and Barnabas accompanied by John Mark travelled across the entire Island preaching with much success. In Cyprus the encounter of Sergius Paulus and Sorcerer Elymas took place.
