Day 1: London - Cairo

6th October 2010
Cairo

With flight BA155 leaving London Heathrow Terminal 5 at 6.00p.m you arrive Cairo after midnight.Transfer to Cairo Sheraton hotel,  for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Memphis - Pyramids

7th October 2010
The Sphinx

Today we will visit Memphis the ancient capital of Egypt. Moses was raised here. The momentous Exodus started here in 1513 BCE. See the Step Pyramid that existed in Jacob’s day (Insight vol 1 p530). Day 3: Aswan

Temple of Philae

At Aswan –known as Syene in the Bible- you board* the Nile River Cruise boat for 4 days and 3 nights including breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Before sailing you visit the impressive the High Dam, the temple of Philae and the unfinished Obelisk.

Day 4: Nile Cruise Aswan to Kom Ombo

Enjoy the morning cruising to Kom Ombo. Sincere Egyptians worshiped in a Temple shared by two gods, Sobek and Horus.

Day 5: Nile Cruise Kom Ombo to Luxor

10th October 2010
Edfu Temple
Enjoy unbelievable sights as you cruise the longest river in the world. At Edfu you visit the best preserved temple dedicated to Horus a god humiliated at the 9th plague. Sail to Luxor.

Day 6: Nile Cruise - Luxor

11th October 2010
You disembark in Luxor and visit the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Here, archeologist Carter discovered the tomb of Tut Ankh Amun. You see the overpowering temples at Karnak on the East Bank. In a train sleeper you have again a private compartment where dinner is served and the following morning breakfast before arrival in Cairo.

Day 7: Cairo

Pharaonic Village
At the Cairo Museum you see the unique and only archaeological exhibit that mentions “Israel” and the impressive collections dating back thousands of years, including King Tut Ankh Amun’s treasures. At the Pharaonic Village you see scenes of ancient Egyptian life re-enacted by costumed actors.

Day 8: Exodus Route to Sinai

Today you leave Cairo and follow the Exodus route. You cross the Suez Canal. It is a truly a moving experience to stand at the possible location where the Red Sea parted (Insight vol 1 p 780-783). You stop at possible sites where the Israelites camped. (“See the Good Land” page 9). Arrive at Mount Sinai. Experience the glorious sunset followed by a panoramic array of stars across the night’s sky. Your hotel is situated at the foothills of Mount Sinai known as “Wadi El Raha” meaning “Plain of Rest”. Here, the Israelites rested and made the golden calf! (Insight, Vol. 1 inside cover and p540).

Day 9: Wadi El Raha - Eilat – Dead Sea

Codex Sinaiticus was discovered over 100 years ago at St. Katherine’s Monastery. You continue the Exodus route and pass through the area where Miriam was struck with leprosy. You cross the border into Israel and pass through Eilat. The highlight is to have a mud bath and float at the Dead Sea.

Day 10: Masada – Qumran – Jericho –Gilgal- Bethlehem

From Masada
A cable car takes you to the top of Masada, the scene of the last Jewish revolt against Rome. Tour the extensive site and enjoy the magnificent view. At Qumran the famous Dead Sea Scrolls were found confirming the reliability of God’s Word. You next visit Jericho the first city captured by God’s people. Israel’s first encampment was at Gilgal. Here the manna ceased. The day ends at your hotel in Bethlehem.

Day 11: Jerusalem

The pages of the Bible come alive visiting Jerusalem. It is one thing to read but it is another to see history unfold before your eyes. Imagine standing at the Mount of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane. You see the Valley of Hinnom or Gehenna and the area where Solomon’s Temple once stood. A highlight in the Israel Museum is the impressive scale model of old Jerusalem as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Hezekiah's Tunnel
Walk through Jerusalem's old streets. See remnants of the City Wall strengthened by King Hezekiah. At The Western Wall (“Wailing Wall”) you see First Century Jewish practices condemn by Jesus, continue to this day.. You  You need water shoes to go through Hezekiah' Tunnel mentioned in 2 Kings 20:20..

Day 13: Joppa- Caesarea- Megiddo- Nazareth

18th October 2010
At Joppa Jonah tried to escape his assignment and Peter had a vision instructing him to visit Cornelius in Caesarea. At Megiddo you can appreciate the value in keeping our “outer garments” for survival (Rev 16:16). The day ends in Nazareth where Joseph and Mary raised their family.

Day 14: Tiberias – Sea of Galilee - Capernaum

19th October 2010
Sea of Galilee
Sailing on the beautiful Sea of Galilee, in a wooden boat similar to the fishing boats in Jesus’ time, is an experience you long remember. You visit Capernaum, (Jesus’ “own city”) and her synagogue and the likely spot of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. Afternoon free. This is our last evening together so appropriately we have a farewell get-together at our hotel.

Day 15: Nazareth – London

20th October 2010

Transfer to Tel Aviv for your flight BA164 departing 4.05 p.m. arriving London, Heathrow terminal 5 at 8.20p.m.
